Mayor Thomas Broderick, Jr. has announced an easy method to access resources that are available to citizens and small businesses who need assistance as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak through the city’s website at www.cityofanderson.com.
The resources include links to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loan program (https://www.sba.gov/disaster), the Indiana Small Business Development Center (www.isbdc.org), Flagship Enterprise Center’s Bankable Quickbridge loan program (www.bankable.org). Other links are also available to provide information on employee protections, community resources, small business planning and emergency response, unemployment issues and other virus-related issues.
“Our staff has spent the last several days working to pull together a variety of reliable sources of information to assist the citizens of Anderson during these difficult times,” said Broderick. “We wanted to make it easy for people to find information that would help them whether they need employment assistance, small business loan assistance, health information or community resources.”
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is currently accepting applications for Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) assistance. Applications can be submitted online. These loans up to $2 million may be used by small businesses as well as private nonprofits to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can’t be paid because of the disaster’s impact. All Indiana counties are eligible for these loans. The interest rates for these loans are 3.75% for businesses and 2.75% for non-profit organizations.
To qualify for disaster loans, applicants must demonstrate credit history, the ability to repay the loan, and proof of physical presence in Indiana and working capital losses.
Additionally, the Indiana Small Business Development Center, which has 10 regional offices throughout the state, will provide free business advising and application assistance for small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.
