BEWARE: Utility Scams

Scam Alert:
Utility scams are not a new form on con, but Anderson residents are being further misled. Phone calls from crooks are appearing they are from the "City of Anderson Utilities" on Caller ID. Victims are instructed to send a Money Pak to prevent interrupted service. The most recent rash of fraud is targeting the Hispanic community. The City of Anderson Utilities will never require a prepaid form of payment from customers. Please call (765) 648-6187 if there are any questions concerning a utility bill. If you are a victim of this crime, contact the Anderson Police Department at (765) 648-6700.
