Property collected and taken into possession by the Anderson Police Department is placed into the Property Section of the police department.

The property section is part of the Special Services Division of the police department.

Most property must be released by the courts or the officer who collected the property before it is released to the owner. All collected property goes through the "Chain of Custody" at the police department. To find out if your property needs a release to be picked up you can telephone the property locker at 765.648.6752. If you know the case number of your incident it will speed up the process of obtaining the information you need. Owners picking up their property must have a Photo I.D. also.
