The City of Anderson would like to address questions received about the progress on the 8th Street Paving Project. As stated in our media releases and our social media, in order to repave 8th Street and make our city a more beautiful place to live and visit, ADA approved wheelchair threshold ramps are being added to every sidewalk corner.
In order for the City to maintain and improve these sidewalks, there will be construction on the corners of 8th street outside the owner property line. We will also be adding a sidewalk on the south side of 8th Street between Nursery and Scatterfield Road.
We will repair any digging that is done and will work to leave our community looking better than when we started.
These important improvements will be done in a manner that creates as little disruption as possible.
The repaving of 8th Street is necessary and will ultimately lead to a more beautiful city for our residents. We appreciate the support we have received from our citizens in order to make this project a reality.
