Hours of Operation

The records section is open to the public during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Services Provided to the Public

The Records Section of the Anderson Police Department performs the following public services:

  1. Process Gun Permits Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Click for specific gun permit information
  2. Conduct fingerprints pre-scheduled through 1-877-472-6917
  3. Run criminal history checks for the City of Anderson jurisdiction only Monday through Friday, from  8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., which are our normal business hours.
  4. Police reports (incident and accident) can also be picked up during our normal business hours.
  5. Process Taxi Permits.
  6. Process subpoena requests for records.
Services Provided for the Department

  1. Transcribe all police reports that are dictated by uniform police officers.
  2. Enter all traffic tickets and warnings, arrests, tow-ins, accident report information, and protective orders into the APD computer system.
  3. Keep records on file as required by federal and state law.
  4. Assist department personnel with locating and processing request for records including criminal histories, accidents, calls for service and other records.
